Gloucester Massachusetts and Stage Fort Park on $20 a dayThis is part of an 18 week, 7,532 mile, Vanabode road trip detailed in the
book from Amazon These crooks want twenty-five dollars to park at the beach just outside Gloucester’s downtown area on a Sunday. This is not happening. So we cruise around at five miles per hour and enjoy the picturesque neighborhoods filled with tiny houses along the shore.
Above: Stage Fort park is especially beautiful with acres of mountainous rocks on bluffs around us. We scramble to the tops of the highest ones, and walk acres of green shady trails along Gloucester harbor, just inside the Northern Atlantic Ocean. Above: We hiked the uplands a while then came down to the beach using these rough steps. Sandy swimmable beaches, rough outcroppings, shady picnic areas, big bathrooms, and an interesting visitor center make for another fun easy day. Above: View back from where we sat for a few hours in the lawn chair, shows adjacent cliffs and old town of Gloucester where we will spend the night. For thousands of unforgettable experiences on this affordable
