Once in historic Portsmouth we park at the small visitors center and get information on the significance of this very old town. The fifteen minute film details, among other things, how the Russians and Japanese were actually entertained here for a week once, during which they managed to pretty much sign an agreement to stop killing each other. They did this in one of the buildings on display.

We walk about two miles of old downtown style brick sidewalks that lead us to a hundred or more eclectic bars, restaurants, and retail shops. Everything is expensive.

We visit numerous waterfront city parks and I take a nap on one of the picnic tables. A black cat stalks minnows from the pier beside me, as I slip in and out of my dreams.
