Gold Coast Hotel Las VegasGold Coast Hotel Las Vegas is a resort destination off the Strip at budget prices. The hotel is well laid out, and it's easy to find your way around. You and your family will enjoy the 70 lane bowling center and the seasonal pool. Shopping is just minutes away at the Forum Shops in Caesar's Palace or the Fashion Show Mall across from the Wynn and "Palazzo." Insider Secret - Arriva restaurant in the Gold Coast offers wine specials. Get a free bottle of wine when you order 2 entrees after 8:30pm. Be sure to ask for it. Kids under 14 stay for here for free. This is a 750 room hotel with spacious rooms and suites. You can expect 32" TVs, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, clock radio, complimentary in-room coffee and Internet access for a fee. Cribs and rollaway beds are available upon request. Enjoy the little window near the tub that lets the steam out. It's rare to find bathroom windows in Vegas hotels. Maid service is daily. The fitness center overlooks the pool and is free for hotel guests. You'll find the best deals on this page. You have many options for dining at the Gold Coast Hotel Las Vegas. Captain Charlie's Oyster Bar is a fun spot, where you can watch your seafood being prepared. They are open from 4pm to 1am. The Cortez Room serves generous steak portions at reasonable prices in an informal setting. Arriva is your destination for homemade lasagna and chicken parmigiana. The Monterrey Room is open 24 hours for snacks, light meals or a full Chinese menu. The Ports O' Call Buffet is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner at very affordable prices. Thursday night is seafood and Sunday night is steak. Ping Pang Pong stays open until 3am for hungry travelers who want fresh Chinese cuisine prepared in the different provinces styles of China. The hotel is half a mile from Chinatown, 1 mile west of the Strip and 4 miles from McCarran International Airport. For a spectacular view of the Strip, take the elevator to the Voodoo lounge next door at the Rio. If you've heard about the Playboy Club at the Palms and you're curious, just take a few minutes and walk there from the Gold Coast Hotel Las Vegas. A free shuttle to the Strip and the Orleans runs every 20 minutes until midnight from the Gold Coast. Locals love the Gold Coast because there's plenty of entertainment nightly. The lounge has Karaoke on Monday nights as well as various dance bands throughout the week. The showroom features local and Strip headliners as well as Vegas shows. Friday and Saturday nights are hot with live band and salsa dancing until 2am. The room we stayed in two nights was clean, and had great water pressure in the shower. The Gold Coast had loose slots, fast check in, efficient valet, coupon books for new members of the free players club, and was quite affordable. It's a great casino to base camp from which to explore all over Vegas cheaply because they have a free shuttle to the strip and are located right next door to the Rio and across from Palms. So you could hang at the Gold Coast affordably, gamble where its good, then walk right to one of the other casinos for a great pool scene, 50+ floor views of Vegas, concerts, movies and more. Gold Coast had good food for the price, great service in the Monterey Room, which was open late and it wasn't smoky. Here breakfast is served till 11 pm plus they have a Chinese menu. Food court options are limited. On the down side the Gold Coast room was pretty small, with a tiny bathroom, and it was noisy through the door to the hallway. The pool and hottub were extremely small probably too small to even host 30 people comfortably. This casino serves the locals heavily and they probably aren't swimming much so maybe it was adequate. Overview: Gold Coast has 3 most important elements for a great cheap base camp to explore Vegas from: low price, close to the strip, and clean. The Fitness Center is free to all registered guests and overlooks the pool. You can stay in a deluxe room with 1 King bed or 2 double beds, or have a 720 square foot deluxe suite. Rollaway beds and cribs are available. Suites have a dining and living room area. You can order room service 24 hours and use the Internet in your room for a small fee. Staff is very attentive to your needs and tries to accommodate you with speedy service and a smile. Rooms do not have safes; but you can make a good cup of coffee in the morning with the provided coffee maker. The luxury of a coffee maker is not even found in most resorts on the Strip. When you're hungry, head over to the Cortez Room, and order a 10 oz. Cortez steak or better, try the slow-roasted, 22 oz. Big Mike's Cut. The Ports O' Call Buffet has great prices for Club Coast members. They also serve Sunday brunch and Friday night seafood. The Monterrey Room serves cocktails, snacks, gourmet coffees, authentic Chinese, breakfast, lunch and dinner 24 hours. Ping Pang Pong provides well-portioned dishes from the provinces of China. In the large gaming area expect good cocktail service, a fun atmosphere and friendly dealers. The 8 seat poker room is non-smoking and open 24 hours. The Race and Sports book is equipped with 160 seats and 65 TVs as well as 2 large screens. It's the number #1 casino for Bingo. Slots are loose at the Gold Coast Hotel Las Vegas which helps us get comps for food while Vanabode stealth camping in the parking lot.
